Choosing the ranks

As soon as we pick the third council we'll come up with a list of ranks probably consisting of only 5 different ones.

Ranks are a bit over rated, but I do have an idea as to what we can do here. Instead of creating a set of ranks that has one member "higher" then the other, why not just create a set that allows a person a rank in their area that they are able to help our little "clan/team"? Almost like a job title.

I still want the "obligated-to-do-nothing-position-unless-I-want-to" position.

i find that ranks that denote authority are strictly for clans in which it is required to keep order, and are really overkill in others, you can overcomplicate things too much really fast tbh, this seems more of a team than a clan so id say it would make more sense for people to be sorted by their expertise, coders in a coder group, pks in pk group, ect and from there break it down by primary field of experience(d1, d2, bw ect. )
some of us are experts at certain things on one game but dont even bother with it in others, authority ranks could easily end up in a situation where the most popular end up on top as opposed to the most deserving which ive noticed over the years being the main reason for a lot of clans disbanding.

you could also do a hybrid of what was already mentioned, in that everyone sorts into a group for what you are good at, and one or two in each group are made the "guru" per say of said group. everyone could learn anything in this setup because it would be made clear whos the go-to guy(or gal) for learning said skill is. if the goal is bettering our knowlage this COULD be a good way to achieve that goal.

Xion, first of all, People will be people. You CAN NOT control them, so there is no point in trying. I find it better to have everyone in the clan as an equal member. The best thing is to not expect anything from anyone within your clan. People seem to forget the meaning of a clan. Isn't it to come together under one "tag" and to help your fellow clan members enjoy the game? You will fail as a leader if you try to put too many politics into a clan. But hey, it's only my own personal opinion. Also, let it be known that you fail at posting. Double posting is lame. You can edit your own post in case you haven't noticed.

seriously, its been all of 3 days and your already trying to flame me? ive been at the head of my clan for going on 9 years and were still here, i very well know what works and what doesnt, and i already mentioned that putting people on authority based ranks only works in certain situations, this is not one of them seeing the main goal of what this group is supposed to be is knowlage. no one should be higher than others simply for the fact that it will literally be detrimental to that goal.

Alright chill out. I know some people don't get along in this team but come on. Please, I don't flame any of you even though I could easily I try to see the best in people and everyone that's in this team I respect and has potential. Everyone of you should respect each other equally.

I agree with chris, we asked you guys here or allowed you guys here cause we believe as a group we can further everyone that joins us as long as they are willing to learn. So i must ask that you all keep some what of a mutual peace here. You are all have ideas and i want to hear them all. That is what makes a clan/Team good the ability to be to listen to everyons ideas and work through whats right for you with out putting down some of them due to the fact that you your self dont like them. and for double posting yes it is annoying but some people do it so i would like it do be a please dont double post comment or something rather then "people who double post are lame". thats my thoughts though.

I may very well be wrong but I'm going to guess that this is a source of information so he/she is able to post as he/she wills. Also, I don't have a problem with Xion. I'm sorry I used a harsh way with my wording. (May have been drunk) I was simply trying to state my opinion. I shall work it out with him. Perhaps we could work on this together.
